  FAQ's:
  Can you recommend a surgeon in my area?
  Yes. We have spine surgeons that we recommend please, email us with your geographic location. In general, we highly recommend that you chose an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes exclusively in the treatment of the spine. To find a qualified professional in your area, contact The North American Spine Society, The Scoliosis Association, Scoliosis Research Society, or American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.


  I would like to come to Los Angeles for surgery with Dr. Pashman. Can your office assist with the details?
 

Yes. If you are outside the Los Angeles area and would like Dr. Pashman to perform your surgery please follow these steps prior to your appointment in Dr. Pashman's office:

1) Download the medical history form and the pain diagram. You may fill these forms out on your computer. Once completed, the forms can be emailed, faxed to (310)423-9963, or included with your films.

2) Please fax both sides of your insurance card to (310) 423-9963.

3) Request your x-rays, mri's, and ct scans, and any additional diagnostic test performed from your physician or imaging center. It is important to send the films, not the imaging reports.

4) Overnight to our office via Federal Express, UPS, or another traceable carrier.


Our office or the Cedars Sinai International Medicine department, will help you confirm your insurance coverage, and provide recommendations for your accommodations.
 

I have been diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease. What does this mean?
  Degenerative Disc Disease refers to the loss of loss of hydration in the disc and weakening of the annulus(outer lining of the disc). Trauma can cause the annulus to tear and disc material leaks out and presses on a nerve. Degenerative disc disease is very common in the human population but is not always symptomatic.


  Do you recommend the IDET procedure?
  Long term studies have not been done to prove or disprove this procedure. You can read more about it in the May 23, 2000 WebMD transcript.
